The Challenge of Yes

In today's Daily Herald, Kimberly Pohl's article, Keeneyville wind turbine dealt a blow? highlights the current status of this project.

The challenge before the Trustee's is to find the alternative to "NO". The School District has been willing to meet every requirement the Village could possibly lay before them. When the village staff presents the worst case scenario before the Village Board, the value and benefits of a Wind Generator then become cloudy. As Village President, I see the huge benefits and seek solutions based on solving the problem. Presenting unrealistic suggestions are not contributing to the successful outcome we all expect today. Saying no, however that is done, is easy. Today's challenge is getting to YES.

Maybe if the wind turbine generator were much shorter it would be more appealing to residents that have to live by it

Thanks for the comment, Donna. I do not believe the school has determined the exact size of the tower. There will definitely be time for input from local residents, so I hope you will be part of the conversation. We hope that together we can find a way to support our school and ensure that they have the funding they need to into the future. Rod
