I have heard from many residents with concerns about the Mallard Lake Landfill gas leak. This is a very serious issue, and I am working to bring your questions directly to the EPA to get answers. Additionally, I have been working directly with Congressman Roskam's Office who has been instrumental assuring the interest of the homeowners is protected as we seek solutions. He personally has his staff engaged in the problem meeting with EPA in Washington, D.C. and following up locally as their work progresses.
State Senator Millner has had direct contact with the head of the ILL-EPA and we are looking for long term solutions that work. Each of our Hanover Park State elected officials has been in touch with me on this issue regardless of their alignment politically. Mr. Ramey, Mr. Crespo, Mr. Froelich, State Senator Noland. They all care that we have a solution in a most timely manner to permit the homeowners affected to have their lives returned to normal.
I will keep you apprised. Hanover Park is a rich community in high level representatives. Your Mayor is doing everything he can to assure a positive outcome and I couldn't be happier with the results thus far. I expect long term assurances that will make living in your neighborhood safer by far than most places due to the testing, oversight, and evaluation for the security of your family.
