Hanover Park Requests Budget Input

As you know, public input and direction is absolutely vital to ensuring that our Village government meets the needs of its residents. I hope you will take a moment to read the press release below and consider joining us in our budgeting process.

---------------------
Hanover Park Requests Public Input
For Fiscal Year 2011 Budget Development

As part of the development of the Village of Hanover Park’s upcoming Fiscal Year 2011 budget, a public input meeting is scheduled Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 6:00 PM in the Board Room of the Village Hall, 2121 W. Lake Street, Hanover Park.

The first step in the Village budget process is to solicit public input. With this meeting, residents have an opportunity to appear before Elected Officials and provide comment about budget issues. Topics could include public safety services, municipal utilities, public works projects or financial resources necessary to fund the budget.

The meeting format is similar to the Village Board meeting Town Hall session in which residents can appear directly before Elected Officials. Their input will be recorded so suggestions can be listed and discussed subsequently. However, debate or immediate proposal response is not planned at this meeting. The meeting’s purpose is to provide an open forum for public commentary.

A second Fiscal Year 2011 public budget meeting is scheduled Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 6:00 PM, one week later. At this meeting, Elected Officials will discuss previously submitted public input comments and provide information to staff on their recommended budget priorities.

The third and final preliminary budget meeting is scheduled Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 6:00 PM. At this meeting, village departments will present information, ideas and recommendations to the Village Board, based on the previous meetings, as well as staff research.

The Fiscal Year 2011 budget allocates expenditures and financial resources necessary to provide Village services for the period May 1, 2010 to April 30, 2011

Date: September 19, 2009
For Immediate Release

Village of Hanover Park
Ron Moser Named Village Manager

On Thursday evening, September 18, 2009, the Village Board named Hanover Park’s veteran Police Chief, Ron Moser, as Village Manager, effective October 1, 2009. Until that time, he will serve as Acting Village Manager.

For the past eleven years, Ron Moser was the Chief of Police at the Village. At the June 4, 2009 Board meeting, he was named as Acting Village Manager.

Ron Moser stated, “It is an honor to be appointed by the Board to this position. I thank the elected officials for their confidence in me. It has been my pleasure over the last 11 years to work with the elected officials, all Village employees, and residents. I particularly thank all members of the Hanover Park Police Department for their outstanding devotion to police work during my tenure as Police Chief.”

Village President Rod Craig believes that Ron is strategic in his leadership, has modeled excellence in the work within the Police Department, and has brought confidence and commitment among the Department Heads as they prepare for the next budget year. The new Board has a vision of economic responsibility and crime prevention and we look forward to Ron Moser’s leadership for Hanover Park as Village Manager.
